Bandırma Chamber of Commerce on the Field for the Development of Its Members

The Bandırma Chamber of Commerce continues its member visits aimed at increasing the competitiveness of its members, contributing to the development processes of businesses, and strengthening university-industry collaboration.

The latest stop of the visits carried out within the scope of the cooperation protocol signed between the Bandırma Chamber of Commerce and Bandırma Onyedi Eylül University Technology Transfer Office (BANÜ TTO) was Bandırma Beşteknik Plastik Mobilya Otomotiv Makine Kalıp Sanayi İthalat ve İhracat Ticaret Limited Şirketi.

The visit was attended by Beşteknik Plastik General Manager Mustafa Söğüt, company official Veli Kocaveli, Bandırma Onyedi Eylül University Technology Transfer Office General Manager Asst. Prof. Dr. Hatice Batmantaş, Technology Transfer Office Vice Manager Lect. Fuat Berke Gül, and Bandırma Chamber of Commerce Project Coordinator Yağmur Sungur.

The University's Knowledge Accumulation Meets the Business World

Within the scope of company visits carried out in collaboration with the Bandırma Chamber of Commerce and BANÜ Technology Transfer Office, member businesses are visited on-site and their needs and expectations are directly evaluated.

During the visits, information is provided on many issues, primarily R&D and innovation studies, project development and consultancy, corporate transformation, digitalization, reporting, sustainability, training activities, and public supports. At the same time, the aims are to bring the academic know-how of the university together with the needs of the private sector, foster a culture of joint projects, and establish collaborations that will increase the competitiveness of companies.

Export Power and Production Capacity Examined On-Site

Within the scope of the visit, detailed information was obtained regarding the production processes, product diversity, and position in the sector of Beşteknik Plastik—which operates in the production of youth rooms, children's rooms, car beds, and eco car beds, and also takes place in international markets with its export activities.

During the meeting held with Company General Manager Mustafa Söğüt and company official Veli Kocaveli, studies aimed at improving production processes, export activities, the current situation of the sector, and future targets were evaluated. In addition, an exchange of ideas took place regarding the academic supports the enterprise might need, project development processes, and potential joint works that could be carried out with the university.

Joint Project and R&D Opportunities Evaluated

During the visit, steps that can be taken to make university-industry collaboration more effective were also discussed. Mutual views were exchanged on utilizing academic knowledge and research infrastructure in line with the needs of the industry, developing R&D projects, benefiting more effectively from public supports, and cooperation models that could contribute to the corporate development processes of companies.

In the evaluations made, emphasis was placed on the importance of joint efforts that will increase the innovation capacity of industrial establishments in the region, and the contributions that strengthening the communication between the university and the private sector will provide to sustainable development were also discussed.

The visit concluded after a mutual Q&A session and sectoral evaluations.
