BANDIRMA CHAMBER OF COMMERCE DELEGATION VISITS THE COMMERCIAL COUNSELLOR’S OFFICE IN ST. PETERSBURG

As part of its St. Petersburg program, a delegation from the Bandırma Chamber of Commerce paid a visit to Eren Öztan, Commercial Counsellor at the Consulate General of the Republic of Türkiye in St. Petersburg.

The delegation included Bahadır Çolak, Chairman of the Board of the Bandırma Chamber of Commerce; Armağan Ahmet Ergüzeloğlu, Treasurer of the Board; Board Members Osman Lafçı and Ceyhun Cihat Yıldırım; Vice Chairman of the Assembly Bilgen Süngü; Assembly Member Recep Akay; and Chamber staff member Ali Sidat.

During the meeting, the participants exchanged views on Bandırma’s economic structure, industrial and commercial potential, strategic port advantages, strength in the agricultural and food sectors, and the region’s foreign trade opportunities. Discussions also focused on enhancing the presence of Bandırma’s business community in international markets, strengthening commercial relations with the Russian market, and exploring business opportunities in the St. Petersburg region.

Commercial Counsellor Eren Öztan provided an overview of the current economic landscape in Russia, highlighting commercial opportunities in the market, key considerations for Turkish companies, and practical aspects of export and import operations. The discussion also addressed recent changes in the Russian market, including new business opportunities arising from the withdrawal of certain European products and the potential advantages these developments present for Turkish companies.

Mr. Öztan emphasized the importance of exercising caution regarding payment systems, banking transactions, logistics, and supply chains when conducting business in Russia. He also noted that demand for imported goods remains strong in several sectors and that Turkish companies can successfully establish a presence in the market by offering the right products, reliable supply chains, and sustainable business models.

The meeting also included discussions on potential cooperation in the fields of food products, dairy products, industrial goods, trade, and supply. It was underlined that Bandırma’s strategic position as a port city, its strong agricultural and food production base, and its well-developed industrial infrastructure make it a promising partner for the Russian market.

During the visit, Chairman Bahadır Çolak emphasized the importance of strengthening international trade connections for the Bandırma business community and reaffirmed the Chamber’s commitment to supporting its members in expanding into global markets.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the Bandırma Chamber of Commerce delegation presented a commemorative gift to Commercial Counsellor Eren Öztan. The visit ended with the exchange of goodwill and mutual expressions of interest in strengthening future cooperation.
