BANDIRMA CHAMBER OF COMMERCE AT THE BALIKESIR BUSINESS WORLD MEETING WITH TOBB PRESIDENT HİSARCIKLIOĞLU

The President of the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Türkiye (TOBB), M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu, carried out a series of visits and meetings within the scope of his Balıkesir program. The Bandırma Chamber of Commerce delegation also participated in the program.

Within the scope of the program, TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu visited Balıkesir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ahmet Akın and Balıkesir Governor İsmail Ustaoğlu in their offices. Bandırma Chamber of Commerce Board Chairman Bahadır Çolak and Assembly President Funda Seçil Dedeoğlu attended the visits.

Giving information about TOBB's investments in the field of education during his visit to Balıkesir Governor İsmail Ustaoğlu, Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that a total of eight educational facilities have been completed in Balıkesir center as well as Ayvalık, Burhaniye, Edremit, Gönen, Bandırma, Erdek, and Susurluk.

At the Balıkesir Provincial and District Chamber/Commodity Exchange Assembly Members Consultation Meeting held in continuation of the program, issues on the agenda of the Balıkesir business world were discussed. At the meeting, problems experienced in access to finance, agriculture, and livestock, and tourism sectors along with solution proposals were evaluated.

The meeting was attended on behalf of the Bandırma Chamber of Commerce by Board Chairman Bahadır Çolak, Assembly President Funda Seçil Dedeoğlu, Board Vice Chairman Sönmez Bekdemir, Board Members Alper Sargın and Armağan Ahmet Ergüzeloğlu, Ceyhun Cihat Yıldırım, and Assembly Members Aydinç Aydemir, Ayhan Atik, Bülent Encin, Cevahir Çakmak, and Recep Akay. In addition, Young Entrepreneurs Provincial Executive Board Member Anıl Aydemir took part in the meeting.

Taking the floor at the meeting, Board Chairman Bahadır Çolak drew attention to the strategic importance of Bandırma's production, industry, port, and logistics infrastructure for the regional and country economy.

Chairman Çolak stated that Bandırma has become an important production and logistics center with the Bandırma Port, organized industrial zones, railway and highway connections, and developing industrial capacity. He emphasized the importance of supporting this potential with correct planning for the future and strong infrastructure investments.

In his speech, Çolak also provided information about the Bandırma Free Zone Feasibility Study carried out by the Bandırma Chamber of Commerce and the Bonded TIR Park Feasibility whose preparations are ongoing, stating that it is aimed to bring Bandırma's production and logistics capacity together with foreign trade in a stronger manner.

Expressing that the need for a ring road is also an important issue in line with Bandırma's increasing industrial and logistics activities, Chairman Bahadır Çolak stated that Bandırma's port, industrial zones, railway, highway, and customs infrastructure should be evaluated with a holistic perspective.

Emphasizing the importance of supporting the production and logistics potential possessed by Bandırma and South Marmara with a stronger infrastructure in line with Türkiye's export targets, Chairman Çolak stated that TOBB's coordination and support are valuable in this process.

The meetings and visits held served as an important gathering in terms of evaluating the economic agenda of Balıkesir and its districts and directly conveying the demands and expectations of the business world to TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu.
