During the audits carried out to protect the quality and authenticity of geographical indicated products, which hold an important place among the agricultural and cultural values of the region, the production and harvest areas of the producers were inspected on-site. The compliance of the products with the production methods, hereditary features, and technical criteria determined in the registration documents was meticulously checked.
The audits were carried out under the coordination of Özener Patent firm official and geographical indicated products process consultant Huriye Özener, with the participation of Bandırma Chamber of Commerce Deputy Secretary General Tuğçe Dayıoğlu and the audit team.
Producers' Labor Crowned with Certificates
Certificates belonging to the producer and marketing companies that successfully completed the audit process were presented by Bandırma Chamber of Commerce Board Chairman Bahadır Çolak at a ceremony held.
Speaking at the ceremony, Board Chairman Bahadır Çolak emphasized that geographical indicated products are not merely a registration document, and that the labor of producers is decisive in keeping these values alive.
In his speech, Çolak stated:
"As institutions, we can register, promote, and audit these values. However, it is your labor that will ensure these products are carried into the future. Therefore, I congratulate all our producers who will receive their certificates today once again, and I wish them a fruitful and successful season where they reap more rewards from their labor and production."
Stating that protecting the production standards of geographical indicated products contributes both to regional development and to the value of local producers' labor, the contributions of producers to sustainable and quality production were also appreciated at the ceremony.
